Dr. Jack Gallagher

received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine (1990). After an internship at the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, MA, he completed a three year surgical residency program at Angell and Tufts University Veterinary School in 1994. He became an ACVS diplomate in 1995 and spent nine years as a staff surgeon at the Oradell Animal Hospital, a large multi-specialty practice in New Jersey. Dr. Gallagher moved to North Carolina to work with Dr. Betts (his former surgery professor at NCSU-CVM) in 2003. In 2005, Dr. Gallagher purchased the practice from Dr. Betts. Dr. Gallagher specializes in neurosurgery and orthopedics. He is a member of several veterinary associations and sees himself as a ‘veterinarian first, surgeon second’. At home, his attention is focused on his family and four pets. Most of his free time is spent coaching or cheering at his children’s athletic events.

Dr. Bud Keller

earned his DVM degree from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985 and then completed a 14 month internship at the world recognized Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Mass. He spent a year in family small animal practice before entering a 3 year surgery residency program at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. In 1994 Dr. Keller earned his American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) certification. After 14 years of surgical practice experience in the Columbia, SC area, he founded a new practice, the Carolina Surgical Care for Animals, LLC. Three years later he relocated to the Raleigh and joined the VSRP surgical team. He enjoys all areas of surgical practice, but is particularly interested in joint disorders, trauma orthopedics and reconstructive techniques. Dr. Keller’s practice philosophy is “one patient at a time”. He offers your pet detail oriented, compassionate creative care guided by extensive training and experience. In his spare time Dr. Keller enjoys scuba diving, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, playing tennis and spending time with his son.

Dr. James (“Buck”) Clark

brought his extensive experience to VSRP in 2011. He earned his DVM from North Carolina State University in 1996 and then completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at Mississippi State University. He then completed an additional one year surgical fellowship at the Dallas Veterinary Surgery Center, followed by a three year surgical residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Clark became an ACVS diplomate in 2006. He served as a staff surgeon at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Cary, NC for six years. Dr. Clark also assists local veterinary practices in the Outer Banks of NC. His weekends are spent at his family home in the Outer Banks, where he enjoys the beach and surf fishing.
